We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team, supporting the delivery of adaptations to social housing stock across Birmingham.
About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in managing costs, contracts, and procurement for housing adaptations projects. You'll ensure works are delivered on budget and to the highest standard, while also identifying opportunities to drive value for money and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of cost planning, estimation, and control for adaptation projects from inception through to completion.
Prepare, manage, and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.
Monitor project budgets, provide financial reports, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Oversee procurement of goods and services, ensuring best value and quality.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver adaptation works on time and within budget.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, assess risks, and manage variations.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards at all stages. About You
Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience).
Strong understanding of contracts, procurement, and construction law.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused mindset.
Experience within housing, social care, or public sector projects (desirable but not essential). What We Offer
