Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Ipswich
Remit: HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling)
Reports to: Commercial Manager
Direct reports: Quantity Surveyor, Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Job Purpose
Responsibility for the management of upstream and downstream commercial administration and management across a portfolio of Projects.
Job Responsibilities
Support pre-construction activities for projects that are being tendered or in ECI/feasibility stages
Ensure compliant and timely submission of notices, variations and other contract administration requirements
Identification and management of project risks and opportunities
Responsible for the preparation and submission of applications for payment and/or invoices on time with appropriate substantiation of CE’s / Variations
Negotiation and management of CE’s / variations and claims
Sub-contract tendering, procurement, negotiation and sub-contract administration. Ensure appropriate subcontract documentation is produced and issued in line with company procedures and manage subcontract accounts in accordance with the subcontract through to final account
Production of cash flow forecasts and ensure payments are administered in line with the contract
Management of accurate cost to complete forecast on each Project
Liaising with relevant operational and project management to have a continual understanding as to status of projects with respect to; applications, certifications, payment received, design, programme, procurement, quality of delivery and tender allowances
Ensure that the internal reports of the projects are accurate in respect of costs incurred, projection of costs to spend, contingency and liabilities, revenue, WIP and margin to date. Able to present clear reports
Ensure that suitable contemporaneous records are kept throughout the project
Manage a team of Quantity Surveyors / Assistant Quantity Surveyors
Carry out any other duties appropriate for the role.
Experience/Skills
Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
Good commercial awareness
Experience with FIDIC, NEC and other standard forms of Contract
Relevant Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management qualification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability present to mixed audiences.
Excellent time management, organisation skills and able to work to deadlines.
