Housing Support Officer

Location: Nottingham, covering Nottingham, Kirkby and a small part of Chesterfield – must hold full UK driving licence and have own vehicle
Job Type: Temporary (Maternity Cover – 12 months)
Salary: £22.23 per hour (Umbrella)We are seeking a Housing Support Officer for a temporary maternity cover role based in Nottingham. This position requires a proactive individual who can drive and manage resources effectively across services within the area, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and business requirements while delivering excellent, personalised services to customers.

Day-to-day of the role:

Support the development and management of housing services, enhancing the profile and offerings to customers.
Assist in the development, delivery, and reporting on team plans for designated service areas to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Promote and embed the organisation's vision and culture within core areas of responsibility to enhance reputation in the marketplace.
Manage the scheduling and deployment of team members to achieve optimum support levels for customers and provide a cost-effective staffing model.
Lead services adhering to business standards, policies, processes, and procedures.
Recruit, induct, develop, and manage the performance of staff to deliver cohesive, high-performing teams.
Manage Supported Housing by providing efficient and high-quality housing services, handling pre-tenancy assessments, sign-ups, and new tenant visits.
Take the lead on managing anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, drawing support from specialist teams where needed.Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of the supported housing, health, and social care sectors, including best practices in care and support delivery.
Housing Management experience with knowledge of legislation, contractual frameworks, and best practices.
Demonstrable experience working across multi-disciplinary teams.
Well-developed communication skills, capable of building and sustaining working relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong report writing skills and a good standard of written business English.
Understanding of the needs and difficulties faced by vulnerable customers and up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding.
Good planning, organising, prioritisation, and administration skills.
