Position: M&E Surveyor
Location: Birmingham (Midlands-based with national travel)
Salary: £75,000 + car
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled M&E Surveyor to oversee the condition and performance of our portfolio’s M&E installations. The role combines surveying, project management, and advisory responsibilities, ensuring that all sites are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and operationally efficient. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic management of M&E assets across multiple sites, with scope for career progression within the private healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain up-to-date M&E condition surveys and develop capital investment plans to ensure the portfolio meets operational and lease obligations.

Generate statements of compliance for regulatory requirements, including fire safety, water risk, building regulations, planning, and landlord stipulations.
*
Prioritise works to ensure sites are safe, compliant, and commercially optimised.
*
Collaborate with reactive helpdesk and PPM teams to target investment, reduce operational expenditure, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
*
Support the Building Surveyor on fabric projects, providing M&E input, and vice versa.
*
Advise and guide sites on best-value approaches to M&E issues.
*
Scope, cost, and deliver projects for improvement, alteration, refurbishment, or remediation of site-installed and movable plant, managing contracts, CDM compliance, cost control, and legal requirements.
*
Work with operations, marketing, finance, and other departments to deliver creative M&E solutions.
*
Supervise Minor Works / Property Managers to ensure completion and quality of works at sites.
*
Take responsibility for the condition of M&E at sites and collaborate with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.

Stand in for the Estates Director or Head of Estates when required.
Candidate Requirements:

Qualified M&E Surveyor, ideally with an M&E delivery background.
*
Experience in the healthcare sector, preferably elder care, specialist care, or mental health.
*
Proven track record managing projects from minor works to full developments, including appointment of professional teams and management of financial and legal aspects.
*
Strong financial planning skills with the ability to analyse and interpret data.
*
Willingness to travel extensively and gain a thorough understanding of all sites.
*
Midlands-based, with the ambition to progress into more senior roles within the private healthcare or multi-site sector.
