Waites recruitment consultancy ltd are working with a fantastic client in Maidstone (Kent) who is looking for a Specialist Service Manager on a full time basis.

We are prepared to think outside the box to fill this vacancy, and consider those candidates that don’t necessarily have preferred relevant industry experience, but have good transferable skills.

Job Title: Specialist Services Manager

Workstream: Specialist Services

Reports To: Directors

As a Specialist Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating various projects across our Specialist Services workstream whose main clients include various water authorities and process sites. You will work closely with workstream Assistant Managers, Administrators/Co-ordinators to ensure the successful delivery of services, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Additionally, you will be responsible for the promotion and selling of my clients services to new and existing clients across our broad scope of works.

Workstream Coordination

Oversee and manage the delivery of services, ensuring alignment with project requirements, including customer and industry standards.

Manage the resources of the team to ensure adequate staffing and skills levels and the smooth operation of the day-to-day running to include planned and reactive needs.

Manage relationships both internally and externally.

Manage the projects and workflows to ensure works are delivered on time and to budget.

Project Management Support:

Assist Project Managers in planning, scheduling, and monitoring the progress of specialist services.

Participate in project meetings, site inspections, and design reviews to ensure specialist services are on track.

Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project goals are met.

Responsible for timely and accurate review of all time recording, and able to apply sound judgment where discretion is required based on our internal guidelines

Team and Resource Management:

Manage supervisors, site labour, and office teams to ensure efficient operations.

Oversee the development of site labour and office teams to enable betterment and promotion.

Manage subcontractors to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Lead by example by being cognisant of internal policies, processes, and procedures and ensuring they are consistently applied.

Business Development and Financial Management:

Develop business opportunities by scoping and quoting for works in an accurate and timely manner.

Pro-actively seek and pursue new leads, leveraging existing client relationships for new business.

Take ultimate responsibility for workstream invoicing and profitability.

Manage procurement, including commercial decision-making regarding pricing.

Oversee the financial aspects of projects, ensuring they are delivered within budget and profitability targets.

Engage in strategic planning to contribute to the wider business development and strategy.

Essential Skills/Qualifications

* IOSH Managing Safely/SMSTS

* Man-management experience

* Business development experience

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

* Water Industry experience

* Industry related NVQ

* CSCS Card

* CAD experience
