Senior Mechanical Engineer – London

Salary: Up to £85,000 + Travel Allowance + Car Allowance + Pension + Healthcare

We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a pivotal role on a major London shell & core new-build scheme. This is a large-scale commercial project where mechanical and electrical services are central to creating a world class building for global occupiers.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the successful delivery of the mechanical engineering packages, ensuring they are designed, procured, installed, and commissioned to the highest standards. Key duties include:

* Leading the engineering and coordination of mechanical systems from concept through to handover.

* Driving integration across disciplines and managing design development in line with BIM processes.

* Overseeing procurement, installation, and programme delivery of major mechanical packages.

* Ensuring compliance with technical standards, health & safety, and commissioning protocols.

* Working closely with consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve challenges.

* Supporting cost control, risk management, and project reporting.

* Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring proven experience of mechanical engineering delivery on large scale commercial or mixed-use projects, ideally within Tier One or leading main contractor environments. You should be:

* Technically strong in mechanical building services and coordination.

* Experienced in delivering shell & core and fit-out projects of significant value.

* Confident in managing design, procurement, and subcontractor performance.

* Proficient with digital tools such as Navisworks, Revizto, or Asite, and familiar with BIM workflows.

* Commercially aware with the ability to balance quality, cost, and programme demands.

* A clear communicator and collaborative team player.
