Site Manager

Location: Canterbury 

Duration: 3-4 months

Contract Type: Freelance

Rate: £240/ £260 per day 

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to lead the delivery of a new build residential development, built using traditional brick and block construction methods. The project consists of multiple housing units, and requires a hands-on, proactive manager with a strong eye for detail and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day management of site operations

Coordination of subcontractors and trades on site

Overseeing groundworks through to completion and handover

Ensuring build quality, health & safety, and program adherence

Site inductions, tool box talks, and H&S compliance

Regular reporting to the Project Manager or Contracts Manager

Essential Experience:

Strong experience managing traditional brick and block residential projects

Proven ability to manage timelines, subcontractors, and quality control

Capable of driving the program while maintaining excellent build standards

Good communication and leadership skills

Experience managing multiple trades on busy residential sites

Required Certifications:

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)

CSCS Card (Black or Gold preferred)

First Aid at Work

NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in Construction Management – desirable but not essential
