M&E Quantity Surveyor
Position: M&E Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor (Contract – 3 month minimum)
Location: Leeds (site/remote)
Client:
M&E contractor looking for a detail-driven M&E QS/SQS to join our projects team. Working across a range of projects that include mechanical & electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and pipework. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients, you’ll play a vital role ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the commercial management of work packages collaborating with package managers and reporting into the project commercial lead. Provides risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms, mitigating risks and protecting work packages and project margins through cost control systems. M&E packages (small to medium projects).
* Responsible for the commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement to final account.
* Procurement of subcontract packages and materials including collating tender documentation & administering tenders.
* Accountable for commercial package management and reporting to the commercial lead.
* Establishes cost control systems including administering client and subcontract changes.
* Establishes risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms.
* Mitigates risks and protect package/project margin.
* Enhances profit by seeking opportunities through change and cost reduction measures such as value engineering.
* Operates and collaborates as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You'll need to have:
* Proficient in MS office tools.
* Subcontract profit and loss reporting.
* Administering monthly commercial calendar.
* Experience in establishing cost control systems.
* Leading value engineer and cost exercises.
* Preparing monthly commercial reports.
* Developed planning and organisational skills.
* Ability to communication, collaborate & network with key stakeholders and senior leaders.
You'll also have:
* Contract Management, including knowledge of M&E Contracts (essential).
* Ability to apply detailed technical expertise managing complex tasks.
* Establishes clients’ requirements & manages expectations.
