We are looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a civil engineering contractor on a 6 month contract in Bristol, starting at the end of October. The project involves the installation of underground district heating pipework, contributing to a sustainable and energy efficient infrastructure upgrade.

Setting Out Engineer Key Responsibilities:

Setting out for underground pipe installations using Total Station and GPS survey equipment

*

Conducting QA checks and maintaining accurate, up-to-date site records

*

Interpreting technical drawings to ensure works are delivered to specification and within tolerances

*

Collaborating with site managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure coordinated progress

*

Providing precise survey data and supporting daily site operations

Setting Out Engineer Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civil or infrastructure projects

*

Valid First Aid certification

*

SSSTS or SMSTS

*

Strong working knowledge of Total Station and GPS equipment

*

Familiarity with QA processes and site compliance procedures

Desirable:

*

Own Total Station and/or GPS kit (beneficial but not essential)

*

Relevant engineering or surveying qualifications

*

Previous experience with utility or pipework installations
