Assistant Estimator
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator to support their pre-construction team. This role is perfect for someone looking to develop their estimating skills and contribute to accurate project costings across a variety of dry lining and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing detailed dry lining cost estimates for projects of varying scales.
Support senior estimators in gathering and analysing project information from clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure accurate and thorough cost assessments.
Help maintain estimating records and ensure all submissions meet company standards and profitability targets.
Stay informed on market trends, material costs, and labour rates to assist in maintaining accurate pricing.
Contribute to bid preparations, including compiling data, preparing supporting documentation, and assisting with client presentations.
Support the pre-construction team with general administrative tasks related to estimating and project planning.
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience or interest in estimating within the construction sector, preferably with dry lining exposure.
Strong numerical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and develop within a pre-construction team.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and support deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
