Site Agent
Site Agent – Heavy Civils / Flood Defence
Salary: £55,000 – £62,000 + package + car/allowance
Location: Greater Manchester to Cumbria (with office base in Warrington)
We’re looking for a Site Agent to join a newly awarded, long-term framework delivering vital infrastructure works for the Environment Agency. Projects typically range from £1m to £4m in value and cover a broad scope of heavy civils – from flood and riverbank defence, embankments, and bridge repairs through to complex asset maintenance schemes.
This is a role with real variety. You’ll either focus on a single large-scale scheme or manage a portfolio of smaller projects across the North West, with the chance to make a visible impact on local communities and the resilience of key infrastructure. You’ll be reporting into an experienced Contracts Manager and will work closely with the senior leadership team from the Warrington office as well as on-site.
Key responsibilities:
Taking day-to-day responsibility for the safe and compliant delivery of works.
Managing site teams and coordinating resources to keep projects moving.
Working with commercial colleagues to monitor costs and stay within tender allowances.
Tracking progress, flagging risks early, and driving solutions to maintain programme.
Preparing and delivering clear, accurate reports to management.
Ensuring all works meet legislative, contractual, health & safety, and quality requirements.
The role will be predominantly site-based (Greater Manchester through to Cumbria), with some office time in Warrington. The working week is mainly Monday–Friday, though occasional weekends or nights may be required depending on programme.
This is a great opportunity for a Site Agent who thrives in hands-on delivery, enjoys the challenge of heavy civils projects, and wants to grow their career on a secure, long-term framework.
