Hill McGlynn is delighted to be working with a respected contractor specialising in cladding, social housing, and new build construction across Greater London. As they continue to grow their commercial team, they are now looking for an experienced Estimator to support their expanding pipeline of work.

🔍 The Role:

As the Estimator, you’ll play a vital role in the pre-construction phase, working closely with the Commercial Director and project teams to deliver competitive, accurate, and high-quality tenders across a diverse portfolio of work.

This role offers a great mix of autonomy and team collaboration and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. The position is based at the company’s Havering office, with projects spread across London.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and submit competitive tenders for cladding, refurbishment, and new build projects

* Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to produce accurate cost estimates

* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing

* Contribute to value engineering processes and commercial strategy

* Work with the pre-construction and delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover on secured projects

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and market costs

Experience & Background:

* Proven experience as an Estimator within construction, ideally including cladding, social housing, or new build residential schemes

* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction methodologies and regulations

* Excellent analytical and numerical skills

* Strong communication and negotiation abilities

* Able to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
