Senior Site Engineer

Job Title: Freelance Senior Engineer (Outside IR35)
Project: £100m Commercial Build
Location: Northamptonshire
Contract Duration: October 2025 – up to 14 months
Day Rate: £400 – £450 (Outside IR35)

The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Freelance Senior Engineer to join the delivery team on a £100m commercial build project in Northamptonshire. This long-term contract offers up to 14 months of work on a flagship scheme. Tier 1 contractor with lots of upcoming work in the area.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage groundworks subcontractors.

*

Provide technical input across bulk earthworks, groundworks, and build stages.

*

Ensure works are delivered in line with design, quality, safety, and programme requirements.

*

Mentor and support junior engineers on site.

*

Report to senior project management team on progress and issues.

*

Maintain strong H&S culture across site operations.

Requirements

*

Demonstrable experience as a Senior Engineer on large commercial build projects.

*

Specific knowledge of bulk earthworks and groundworks is essential.

*

Strong leadership and communication skills.

*

SMSTS desirable.

*

No setting out required – focus is on management, coordination, and technical oversight.

Outside IR35.

Duration: Up to 14 months.

Day Rate: £400 – £450 (DOE).
