Group Head of Tendering & Work Winning

The successful candidate will be based in Europe, fluent technical English speakers, and required to spend at least two to three days per fortnight in our client’s German office.

This role requires a senior piling, foundations and ground engineering professional with extensive experience in the work winning, tendering, bidding and/or pre-construction field. Our client seeks a high calibre professional with enthusiasm and drive to make an impact. You must have strong technical acumen coupled with a general passion for ground engineering and demonstrable senior level management expertise within the industry.

The Role

Due to continued expansion, an abundant pipeline of works and an internal reorganisation, our client wishes to appoint a Group Head of Tendering & Work Winning who will take holistic responsibility for spearheading all European estimating and bidding functions, teams and managers, coupled with strategy and technical leadership for the entire European operations.

The Person

* Leadership experience pertaining specifically to the piling, foundations and ground engineering sectors, and covering a wide range of techniques, disciplines, values and sectors

* You will be responsible for the group’s ongoing pre-construction and bidding development and ensuring continued success with regards to all aspects

* You will have a proven track record of strategic influence and successfully applying strategy from the capacity of bidding and work winning excellence within the sector

* You will possess demonstrable achievement in the ability to nurture profitable relationships with a wide cross section of clients, whilst also providing budgetary and technical advice

* You should be able to make an immediate impact upon the business with an established understanding of all cycles of the tendering and bidding process, as you will be required to manage your own workload effectively, whilst reporting to the main board and CEO

* Demonstrative experience in implementing tendering and work winning strategies at a senior management level

* Demonstrable experience in managing large teams (including managers)

* You will support the continued expansion of the business through strengthening and diversifying the company’s technical service offering and understand their current and future needs as completely as possible

* You will be outgoing with excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills, and have the ability to form long term relationships with stakeholders of all levels

* You will identify opportunities for improvement to the business, and be fully conversant with holistic tendering capabilities, technical innovations, and operational processes and procedures within the sector in order to better understand client requirements and opportunities, and thus position the company to offer bespoke solutions which will yield the required returns accordingly

* You will be an integral part of the senior leadership team to provide guidance and support to the broader process of technical work winning strategy

* You will ensure the company’s technical offering is in line with their market leading status and offers their clients compelling value
