This role is ideal for a driven and experienced Programme Manager who thrives on leading high-profile, complex programmes from inception through to successful delivery. As Senior Programme Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing a major programme of works, ensuring objectives are met in line with client expectations and wider business goals.

As a confident Programme Manager, you will bring strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams across multiple workstreams. Your strategic oversight and attention to detail will enable you to maintain programme alignment, manage risk, and implement performance improvement initiatives. The successful Programme Manager will also take a proactive role in engaging stakeholders, driving collaboration, and promoting best practices across the project lifecycle.

The Senior Programme Manager's role

The Senior Programme Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of a large-scale, complex programme, ensuring that outputs are delivered to time, quality, and budget. You will monitor progress and performance, implementing robust governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will manage interdependencies and support informed decision-making through clear and consistent communication.

You will provide leadership and direction to internal teams and external partners, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and deliverables. Risk management, budget control, and compliance with industry standards will be central to the role, alongside continuous improvement to enhance service delivery.

The Senior Programme Manager

Proven experience in a Programme Manager or Senior Programme Manager role within a large infrastructure, construction, or public sector environment.

Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills across complex, high-value programmes.

Relevant industry qualifications such as MSP, PRINCE2, or APM PMQ.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level.

A strategic mindset with a focus on outcomes, performance, and delivery excellence.

Degree qualified in a relevant field (e.g. Project Management, Engineering, or Construction Management).
