Document Controller – 6-Month Contract (with extensions possible)
Location: Hybrid – Derby / Castle Donington / Rugeley (2-3 days on-site per week)
Salary: £35,172 + 5% utilisation bonus & Additional Benefits!
Are you an experienced Document Controller with a construction background, looking for your next contract role? This is an exciting opportunity to support a major UK energy infrastructure programme, ensuring compliant, traceable project documentation across complex multi-site projects.
Our client is a leading organisation at the heart of the UK's energy sector, delivering large-scale programmes that support the country's transition to a cleaner, more resilient energy future. Working on some of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in the UK, you'll play a key role in making sure all project documentation is properly controlled, compliant, and audit-ready.
What you'll be doing
Acting as the key interface with Main Works Contractors' document controllers and systems.
Managing all incoming and outgoing project documentation, ensuring it is properly reviewed, approved, and distributed on time.
Maintaining accurate records of document revisions, changes, and audit trails.
Setting up and overseeing a Request for Information (RFI) system, producing reports for project teams.
Providing training, guidance, and technical support on document control systems to project stakeholders.
Ensuring compliance with company standards, procedures, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
What we're looking for
Strong background in document control within a construction environment.
Hands-on experience with Common Data Environments (CDEs) and/or collaboration software.
Solid IT skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
Knowledge of construction contracts, project delivery, and handover requirements (CDM, H&S files).
Organised, detail-focused, and able to thrive as part of an integrated project team.
A relevant qualification and/or demonstrable experience in a document control environment.
Full clean UK driving licence (travel between sites required).
