Location: Reading, Cardiff, or Warrington (hybrid with UK travel)
Salary: Up to £55,000 + £6,300 car allowance + benefits

The Role
As a Permitting Development Manager, you’ll be at the heart of developing and delivering operational and regulatory processes that support land protection and improvement. Working closely with operational teams, you’ll provide technical advice and ensure all environmental permitting requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage environmental permit applications and variations for soil and waste treatment activities
*
Ensure compliance with UK environmental permitting regulations and internal standards
*
Liaise with consultants, regulators, and internal teams to support permitting delivery
*
Produce reports and documentation to support operational decision-making
*
Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective action where required
*
Maintain accurate records and ensure information is accessible across the team
*
Conduct internal compliance audits and share actionable feedback
What We’re Looking For
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Waste, Remediation, or Contaminated Land
*
In-depth knowledge of UK environmental permitting regulations (essential)
*
Ideally a member of a professional body (CIWM, IES, etc.)
*
Strong communicator with the ability to liaise with regulators and stakeholders
*
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*
Flexible and collaborative approach to working across departments
*
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide
