Flat & Pitched Roofing Contracts Manager

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee the delivery of flat and pitched roofing projects across new build and refurbishment schemes. The role involves full responsibility for managing contracts from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in roofing contract management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Manage roofing contracts from inception to completion, covering both flat and pitched roofing systems.

Lead project planning, resourcing, programming, and cost control to ensure successful project delivery.

Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections to monitor progress, compliance, and quality standards.

Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors, maintaining strong professional relationships.
*
Oversee site teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
*
Provide technical input, value engineering advice, and support during design and pre-tender stages.
*
Monitor and manage budgets, costs, and variations, ensuring commercial targets are met.
*
Prepare and review contract documentation, reports, and project handover information, including O&M manuals.
*
Support defect management, ongoing maintenance, and aftercare services post-completion.
*
Promote and uphold high standards of workmanship, safety, and client satisfaction across all projects.
Skills & Experience
*
Proven experience as a Contract Manager (or Senior Site Manager/Project Manager) within the roofing sector.
*
Strong knowledge of both flat and pitched roofing systems, including installation methods, products, and regulations.
*
Track record of delivering projects ranging from small works to multi-million-pound schemes.
*
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage subcontractors.
*
Strong commercial acumen and experience managing budgets, costs, and contract variations.
*
Effective communication and negotiation skills, with a client-focused approach.
*
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
*
SMSTS or equivalent health & safety certification (essential).
*
CSCS card (black or gold) desirable.
*
First Aid certification (preferred).
*
Roofing or construction-related qualifications (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent) advantageous.
