Roofing & Cladding Estimator
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Roofing & Cladding Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of roofing and cladding projects in the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. This role requires strong technical knowledge of roofing and cladding systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities

Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope and requirements.

Carry out site visits and surveys to assess roof and façade conditions, take measurements, and identify potential challenges.
*
Prepare detailed estimates and cost breakdowns for roofing and cladding projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
*
Source, negotiate, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value.
*
Prepare, submit, and follow up on quotations, tenders, and proposals within tight deadlines.
*
Work closely with project managers and contract teams to ensure accurate handover of successful bids.
*
Provide value engineering solutions and highlight potential risks or alternative system options.
*
Maintain pricing databases and ensure cost information is kept up to date.
*
Keep abreast of industry developments, new materials, and changes in building regulations relevant to roofing and cladding.
Qualifications & Skills
*
Proven experience as an Estimator in roofing, cladding, or a similar construction discipline.
*
Strong knowledge of roofing systems (flat, pitched, single-ply, metal, slate, tile, etc.) and cladding systems (rainscreen, composite, standing seam, metal sheet, etc.).
*
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, structural details, and specifications.
*
Proficiency in estimation software, spreadsheets, and measurement tools.
*
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
*
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
*
Ability to prioritize workloads, work independently, and meet deadlines.
*
Full UK driving licence (or equivalent).
Education & Experience
*
Minimum of 3+ years’ estimating experience within the roofing/cladding sector.
*
HNC/HND/Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field (desirable but not essential).

Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and health & safety regulations.
