Location: NW London
Salary: £60,000 to £80,000 + car & package
A leading main contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to deliver the commercial function on the Mechanical and Electrical packages of HS2's Old Oak Common Station. This is one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure schemes, offering secured long-term work on a project of national significance.
Role Overview
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for the commercial management of complex M&E work packages. This includes full contract administration under NEC3/4 Option C, change control, subcontract management, and reporting. The role requires consistent site presence in London with three days per week minimum expected.
Key Responsibilities
Administration of NEC3/4 Option C contracts
Manage subcontract procurement, administration, and entitlement
Review and value contractor applications for payment
Draft and issue contractual notices including EWNs and Compensation Events
Produce and monitor cost reports, forecasts, and change management
Provide risk and commercial advice to project and delivery teams
Negotiate and manage subcontract packages to achieve value for money
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with client and supply chain stakeholdersEssential Requirements
Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor overseeing complex M&E/MEPH packages
Strong knowledge and practical use of NEC3/4 contracts
Demonstrated ability in cost control, subcontract management, and change control
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
Strong commercial reporting and financial monitoring capability
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsDesirable
RICS accreditation or working towards chartership
Previous MEP project experience
Background within main contractor or joint venture delivery modelsBenefits and Career Development
