They are seeking a Senior Design Manager to join a privately owned contractor delivering high-quality private sector schemes valued up to £100m. The business is in a strong growth phase, having recently secured £200m of new workload across the Midlands, offering significant opportunities for career progression.

Location: Birmingham

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Design, you will take a leading role in shaping and delivering key projects. You may be responsible for managing:

Two small residential/apartment schemes valued at approximately £15m each, or

*

A large-scale project with a value of circa £60m.

You will be accountable for overseeing the design process from concept through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered to budget, programme, and the highest quality standards. Your role will involve:

Leading and mentoring design teams, fostering collaboration and excellence

*

Coordinating multidisciplinary design inputs across all project phases

*

Managing client relationships and stakeholder engagement

*

Driving innovation, sustainability, and compliance across projects

*

Ensuring risk management, cost control, and design quality standards are maintained

Requirements:

*

Experienced Senior Design Manager with a proven track record in residential, commercial, or mixed-use schemes

*

BSA experience desirable but not essential

*

Strong leadership and team management skills

*

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities

*

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards
