Assistant Planner / Scheduler

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a small but highly supportive planning team within a leading civil engineering contractor. With major schemes across highways, infrastructure and regeneration, you’ll gain hands-on exposure, real responsibility, and the chance to develop quickly.
You’ll be working closely with the Senior and Project Planner and site operations teams, supporting projects from pre-construction right through to delivery. This isn’t an office based role, you’ll be on-site, engaging with Project Managers, Engineers and Senior Management, so we’re looking for someone personable, confident and ready to make an impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Assisting in the development and management of live project programmes (Primavera P6, Powerproject, MS Project)
* Recording and monitoring on-site progress against programme, reporting on performance and forecasting ahead
* Producing look-ahead programmes, procurement schedules and subcontractor tracking reports
* Supporting pre-construction teams with design, procurement and planning input
* Preparing KPI dashboards, metrics and detailed analysis using Power BI and Excel
* Running collaborative planning sessions and supporting submission deadlines
* Attending site regularly to monitor progress and build strong working relationships
What We’re Looking For
* 1–2 years’ experience in a planning or scheduling role within construction / civils
* On-site experience desirable – highways / civils background preferred
* Exposure to P6 / Powerproject / MS Project (P6 is a must)
* Strong Power BI & Excel skills (highly desirable)
* Understanding of NEC contracts and the importance of programme to project delivery
* Clear communicator, confident working with both site teams and Senior Management
* Personable, proactive and able to work as part of a tight-knit, supportive team

* Salary: £35k – £38k (depending on experience)
