What You'll Do:
As a Water Hygiene Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of water systems and preventing issues like Legionella. Your responsibilities will include:
Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of water systems, monitoring temperatures and checking flow rates to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Maintenance: Service Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs), descale showerheads and hoses, and perform thorough cleaning and disinfection of water storage tanks.
Water Sampling: Collect samples for testing, particularly in closed systems, to guarantee water quality.
Chlorination: Carry out disinfection works, including chlorination of water systems, following established guidelines.
Legionella Risk Assessment: Apply Legionella prevention guidelines to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records and service reports, analysing daily data for continuous improvement.
Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their systems meet compliance standards.What You Bring:
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
Technical Skills: Proven experience with plumbing, servicing, and using hand and power tools.
Problem-Solving Ability: A knack for identifying potential issues and proactively finding effective solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities for engaging with both clients and colleagues.
Compliance Knowledge: A solid understanding of HSE's ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidelines for Legionella prevention.
IT Proficiency: Familiarity with CAFM or PDA systems for managing tasks and data efficiently.Work Environment:
Field-Based: You'll be working in healthcare facilities, engaging with the general public, and ensuring their water systems are safe.
