About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of major projects, work directly with senior stakeholders, and play a key role in driving commercial outcomes.
You will work across all stages of the project lifecycle, from feasibility and cost planning through to procurement, contract administration, and final account settlement — ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management – Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and estimates, ensuring robust financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Procurement & Tendering – Lead procurement strategy, prepare tender documentation, manage bid analysis, and oversee contract negotiations.
Commercial Oversight – Manage valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts, protecting client interests at every stage.
Risk & Value Management – Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies while seeking opportunities for added value.
Client Engagement – Build strong, long-term relationships, act as a trusted advisor, and lead client meetings and presentations.
Leadership & Mentoring – Guide and support junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and helping them progress professionally.
Business Contribution – Play an active role in business development initiatives, proposal writing, and supporting growth strategies.
About the Requirements
* Professional Status – MRICS qualified (or equivalent) with a proven track record in consultancy-based quantity surveying.
* Experience – Minimum 5+ years’ experience delivering projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, infrastructure, or mixed-use developments.
* Contract Knowledge – Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts, with the ability to apply them effectively.
* Analytical Mindset – Comfortable interpreting data, preparing reports, and offering commercially sound advice.
* Leadership Skills – Capable of leading project teams, managing stakeholders, and developing junior staff.
* Communication – Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a confident, client-facing presence.
