Site Manager

We are recruiting for an experienced Internal Site Manager to lead the fit-out works on a major Emergency and Critical Care department within a new state-of-the-art hospital development in Dorchester. This is a key role within a leading UK main contractor known for delivering complex healthcare and public sector projects to the highest standards.

The Role

As the Internal Site Manager, you will take full ownership of the internal fit-out phase of this high-profile healthcare project — ensuring technical compliance, programme delivery, and first-class site management. You will work closely with the wider project team, ensuring the works are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate all internal and fit-out works.

Ensure full compliance with project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

*

Implement company policies on Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental and Sustainability.

*

Maintain strong working relationships with the client, consultants, and supply chain.

*

Proactively identify and resolve technical or delivery challenges.

*

Lead site teams and support junior staff, including performance reviews and development.

*

Drive continuous improvement and contribute to best practice across the project.

Requirements

*

Proven track record delivering fit-out and internal packages on major projects (ideally healthcare or large commercial).

*

Experience working for a main contractor in a similar role.

*

Relevant construction-related qualification (Degree/HNC or equivalent).

*

SMSTS and appropriate CSCS card – essential.

*

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

*

Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts.

*

Security clearance (or ability to obtain) desirable.
