Senior Site Manager / Site Manager – Construction Projects (Stowmarket & Ipswich Area)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Site Manager or Senior Site Manager to join a long-established main contractor delivering a diverse range of high-quality construction projects across Stowmarket, Ipswich, and the surrounding areas.

With a strong pipeline of secured work in both the public and private sectors, this permanent position offers long-term stability, project variety, and excellent prospects for professional growth.

Key Project Types

You’ll be involved in a broad mix of new build and refurbishment schemes, including:

Educational facilities (schools, academies, colleges)

Healthcare and community buildings

Local authority and council frameworks

Commercial and industrial developments (typically £5m–£10m)

*

Heritage restorations and specialist works

*

Residential schemes and small-scale housing projects

Key Responsibilities

*

Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards

*

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, materials, and plant

*

Work collaboratively with project managers and design teams to maintain progress and quality

*

Monitor and maintain site records, reports, and compliance documentation

*

Promote and uphold strong standards of health & safety, environmental responsibility, and workmanship

*

Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams, ensuring clear and effective communication

What We’re Looking For

*

Proven experience managing general building or commercial projects, ideally between £5m and £10m in value

*

Strong technical understanding of both new build and refurbishment processes

*

Confident interpreting drawings, specifications, and contracts

*

SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid, and CSCS certification essential

*

Full UK driving licence

*

Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
