Construction Assurance Manager
The role of a Construction Assurance Manager in Capital Delivery (Major Projects) is essential for the success of Thames Water’s water treatment developments. Your oversight of construction activities ensures that work is delivered to the highest standards, from design to completion, in alignment with asset, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
In this significant role, you will help ensure that one of the most extensive water treatment facilities is built correctly, safeguarding the essential services that sustain lives during construction.
Your expertise and keen attention to detail are vital for executing these transformative projects, which deliver critical services to communities and create a lasting impact.
What you’ll be doing as a Technical Construction Manager
- Providing a technical understanding of the Water Treatment work processes to ensure that delivery of water is not disrupted.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental requirements in asset design and delivery, monitoring delivery performance and working with contractors to address issues and improve.
- Manage the input of consultant specialists and subject matter experts, delivering the construction phase assurance on all clean water projects within the Major Projects portfolio.
- Engage with Asset Management. Engineering and Operations: identify synergies and use lessons from previous projects to agree on the most effective solutions.
- Support the assessment and appointment of contractors and consultants.
- Manage the Operational Integration team to ensure project deliverables are clear and agreed upon by all stakeholders.
- Verify and approve project plans (Project Delivery Plan, Commissioning Plan, test plans).
- This role will be based on a hybrid basis suitable to your home location within the Thames Water regions, so there must be flexibility to travel 3-4 days of their 36-hour week.
The successful candidate must drive and have access to a car, and this role comes with a £5.800 car allowance.
What you should bring to the role
- Hold an engineering degree or a background in a similar role.
- Have a technical understanding of the principles and processes involved in developing, designing, constructing, and operating water treatment works or substantial experience in a similar process environment.
- Have sufficient knowledge and capability for the technical review of project details.
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
- Understanding of performance and quality management.
