Role:
I am looking for a hands-on SHEQ Advisor with a Civils and Groundworks background that will lead all project advisory activities and facilitate both compliance and continual improvement in work activities, processes, and safe working behaviours.
This is an integral role within the business to expand compliance function, collaborating with colleagues, and participating in business review meetings.

Responsibilities:

Advising and supporting teams with technical advice on matters arising, ensuring supervisory/management roles are equipped and capable of delivering successful projects.
Conduct comprehensive inspections, ensuring timely reporting, and actions are clearly communicated, escalating concerns as appropriate.
Participate in relevant project reviews, both routine meetings and special events arising.
Conduct timely root cause analysis investigations, liaison with key stakeholders, agreeing learning, and communicating actions.
Engage and consult with workers and supply chain in relation to a wide range of compliance obligations (e.g. health, safety, well-being, modern slavery, etc). Transferring skills and knowledge via briefing sessions.
Represent the company to the highest standard with regular engagement of various external stakeholders including the Client, PC, and supply chain.
Promote safe working practices by support the company and project team with the development, evolution, and deployment of safe systems of work.
Lead continual improvement projects arising to support process improvement, zero harm, behavioural change and culture.Qualifications & Essentials:

NEBOSH Qualification (construction) or equivalent
IOSH Membership
Valid CSCS Affiliated Card
Experience in Groundworks or Civil Engineering
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written (IT literate)
Ability to raise awareness and improve safety culture
Proactively leading and managing the HSE Management policies, procedures, and practices
Ability to train and develop staff, improving their understanding and capabilities
Ability to work in a pro-active and cooperative manner with clients, contractors, and site staff to improve performance and minimise non-conformances on site
Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
Good investigative and problem-solving skills
Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessments
