Our client is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to take a step up or an established Quantity Surveyor looking for progression. The role will be based in Nottingham office. With a strong pipeline of work on multiple sites around the region this is a great opportunity for a career driven Quantity Surveyor.

What you will be doing:

* Receive initial tender information and assist the QS or Senior QS in the preparation and updating of procurement schedules and programmes.

* Work with the QS or Senior QS to populate an initial RFI list and a Risks and Opportunities Schedule

* Work with the QS or Senior QS to agree selection of suitable Subcontractors for works packages. Review the competency of Subcontractors for inclusion on the Subcontractor’s Approved List. Maintain and reviews the Approved List of Subcontractors in accordance with the Departmental procedures.

* Prepare and issue Subcontract package enquiries and produce a schedule showing current Status of each enquiry. Also, as required produce Schedule and Take Off’s of quantities. (Understanding of drawn information is essential)

* Liaise with Supply Chain (Subcontractors) to ensure tenders/bids are received on time or record if they have declined to tender.

* Assist the QS or Senior QS in the preparation of tender analysis for approval / signing by authorised signatory.

What we need from you:

* HNC / Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Construction management or equivalent.

* A good understanding or building regulations and legal obligations.

* A good knowledge or construction methods and materials.

* Strong mathematical and IT ability.

* Good understanding of standard measurement rules.

* Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge.

* Ability to assess and analyse information.

* Good business sense.

* Good understanding of budget management.

* Negotiating and networking skills.

* Excellent communications skills.

* Able to work under pressure and accept criticism of work.

* Good team working skills.

Desirable:

* Demonstrable experience within a similar role within house building

* Excellent interpersonal

* Ideally experience of using COINS

* Knowledge of building regulations and legislation requirements

* Knowledge of construction methods and materials

* Full and clean driving licence
