Quantity Surveyor (new build housing)

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Plymouth / Tavistock

RG Setsquare is currently hiring a talented and motivated Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a well-established main contractor. The successful candidate will support new build housing and construction projects based around the Plymouth and Tavistock areas.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Management:

Prepare and manage project budgets

Monitor and control construction costs

Analyse financial performance and report variances

Contract Management:

Administer construction contracts

Negotiate favourable terms with subcontractors and suppliers

Assist in resolving contractual disputes

Procurement:

Lead procurement activities, including tendering and negotiation

Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)

Proven experience working on new build housing or construction projects

Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control

Excellent negotiation and communication skills
