We’re seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a highly successful, award-winning main contractor in their thriving Bristol office. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established regional business unit known for its strong pipeline of work, collaborative culture, and exceptionally low staff turnover.

The Role:
You’ll work closely with the Regional Design Lead, managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery on a range of high-profile projects — typically up to £80 million in value. Schemes include MOD developments, education projects (schools, colleges, universities), and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate design activities across multiple projects

Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to achieve design excellence

Ensure design deliverables meet programme, budget, and quality targets

*

Support pre-construction and bid teams on new opportunities

About You:

Proven experience as a Design Manager with a leading contractor

Strong technical background with excellent communication and coordination skills

*

Comfortable managing design teams on large, complex projects

*

Proactive, commercially aware, and solutions-focused
