Mechanical Technician – OCGT
Astute's Power team looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on an OCGT Power Station on a 3/6-month contract basis for its plant in Birmingham from November 2025.
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician role comes with a day rate of between £(Apply online only) per day (Inside IR35).
Key skills
Responsible for the planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical assets such as pumps, gearboxes, valves, gas turbines etc
Work in line with maintenance techniques and practises
Assisting in plant developments
Involved in continuous improvement activities, plant inspections and fault investigation work.
Liaise with the operations team to ensure plant availability.
Ideally C&G/NVQ Level 3 minimum in Engineering or Apprentice qualified – Mechanically biased
Prior experience within heavy process engineering environments such as Power Stations (EfW, Biomass, OCGT/CCGT, CHP)
Must be familiar with pumps, valves, piping and rotating equipment.
