Quantity Surveyor – Bricklaying Division
Location: Margate, Kent (Local Projects)
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 DOE
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hill McGlynn are proudly working in partnership with a respected Main Contractor to source an experienced Quantity Surveyor for their specialist Bricklaying Division, based close to Margate, Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long-established, growing contractor with a strong pipeline of local work.

The Role:

You will play a key role within the commercial team, taking ownership of the brickwork packages across a range of new build and refurbishment projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, and cost reporting within a busy operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage commercial aspects of bricklaying packages across multiple projects

* Prepare valuations, CVRs, and final accounts

* Assess and manage subcontractor applications and variations

* Work closely with operational teams and senior management

* Ensure projects are delivered on budget and maximise value recovery

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the bricklaying or masonry sector

* Experience working for a subcontractor or within a self-delivery division of a main contractor

* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts

* Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills

* A self-motivated, proactive approach with the ability to work independently
