Cad Technician

We’re looking for an experienced Freelance CAD Technician to support long-term clean water infrastructure projects primarily focused on pipeline packages for a well-established main contractor operating across Bristol, Somerset, and the South West.

You’ll be embedded in a busy design team with flexibility to be based from either Bristol or Exeter offices, supporting major clean water frameworks with a pipeline of secured work stretching beyond 24 months.

Key Responsibilities:

* Create detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD for clean water pipeline and associated civil works.

* Work closely with Engineers and Project Managers to develop and refine designs from concept through to construction.

* Ensure drawings meet client and regulatory standards, with a strong focus on accuracy and clarity.

* Assist with drawing management and QA processes in line with project requirements.

* Support design coordination with other disciplines and subcontractors as needed.

Requirements:

* Proven experience using AutoCAD in the water or civil infrastructure sector.

* Experience working on clean water or pipeline projects.

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.

* Strong communication and collaboration skills.

* Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload effectively under a freelance arrangement.

Desirable:

* Experience working within UK Water Frameworks (specifically AMP).

* Knowledge of 3D CAD or BIM processes (advantageous but not essential).
