Senior Quantity Surveyor – Specialist Façade Contractor (London)
Location: Greenwich, London (office-based with regular site visits)
Salary: £62,000 – £75,000 + structured reviews and progression

About the Company
Our client is a leading specialist contractor delivering complex façade and cladding projects across London and the Southeast. Known for their technical expertise and hands-on approach, they deliver both remediation and new-build schemes for major clients in the residential and commercial sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to oversee multiple live projects and lead a small commercial team. This is a pivotal role offering excellent career progression within a dynamic and expanding business.
The Role
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of several projects ranging from £3–10 million, ensuring full commercial control, contractual compliance, and accurate financial reporting. You’ll also play a key leadership role, mentoring junior QSs and contributing to the continuous improvement of commercial systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the commercial delivery of multiple façade projects from contract award through to final account.
*
Prepare and maintain cost plans, forecasts, and CVRs.
*
Oversee subcontract procurement, including preparation of enquiries, negotiation, and contract award.
*
Lead monthly valuations and ensure timely submission of applications and certifications.
*
Administer subcontract accounts, variations, and payment notices in accordance with JCT requirements.
*
Identify and manage commercial risks, scope changes, and delay notifications.
*
Support and mentor junior QSs, ensuring accuracy and consistency across reporting and processes.
*
Liaise closely with operations, design, and accounts teams to maintain commercial alignment.
*
Provide commercial insight to senior management on project performance and opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
*
5–7 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, ideally within façades, cladding, or specialist envelope contracting.
*
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver accurate commercial reporting.
*
Strong understanding of JCT contracts (Design & Build / Sub-Contract).
*
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
*
Proficiency with Excel and digital management systems.
*
Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
*
Proactive, commercially astute, and highly organised.
Desirable:
*
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (RICS accredited preferred).
*
Experience with façade remediation or Building Safety Fund projects.
*
Knowledge of digital QA or cost management tools (e.g. Fieldview, Fonn).
