360 Recruitment has been retained by a leading multi-disciplined contractor to identify and appoint a Head of Preconstruction.

The successful candidate will be appointed as Head of Preconstruction for their Earthworks, Enabling and Remediation division.

Job role: Head of Preconstruction

Location: Midlands-based

Salary: £100,000/annum + package (car, healthcare, pension, discretionary bonus, etc)

Head of Preconstruction Responsibilities:

Oversee the full preconstruction lifecycle: from opportunity identification, feasibility, bid/tender preparation, concept design, through to contract award and handover to the construction/operations teams.
Set up and manage robust cost estimation, cost control, benchmarking, and early budget forecasting.
Lead bid/tender process: manage inputs from design, procurement, operations, and commercial; prepare compliant, competitive and well‑presented submissions.
Engage with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other external stakeholders to understand requirements, negotiate terms, and build relationships.
Requirements:

Experience in a similar role within the civils sector.
Attention to detail: ensure bids, cost estimates and technical submissions are accurate and high quality.
Organised & driven: ability to manage multiple bids and projects concurrently, meet tight deadlines.
Adaptable: able to operate in changing environments, respond to new risks or market shifts.
