About the Role
We are currently seeking a capable and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Assistant Cost Manager) to support the delivery of CAT B commercial fit-out projects across a high-profile estate in Canary Wharf.

Projects range in value from £50,000 light refurbishments to £5 million large-scale fit-outs, which may include structural alterations. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide variety of fast-paced, premium commercial projects within a collaborative and experienced project team.

The successful candidate will support a Senior Cost Manager and work as part of a broader cost control and project delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and revision of cost plans and estimates as designs progress

*

Support the tender process, including compiling tender documentation and evaluating returns

*

Help with preparing contract documentation and administering change processes

*

Contribute to the preparation of interim valuations and final accounts

*

Assist in the management of tenant variations and contractor change orders

*

Support with cash flow forecasting and project financial reporting

*

Maintain accurate cost records and support cost data analysis for future use

Requirements

*

Demonstrable experience working on CAT B commercial fit-out projects (essential)

*

Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (essential)

*

Good understanding of cost control and construction procurement

*

Strong numeracy, communication, and organisational skills

*

Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

*

Positive attitude, team-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving

*

Able to build effective working relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders

Contract Details

Day Rate: Circa £300

*

Start: Immediate or short notice preferred

*

Location: On-site, Canary Wharf Estate
