Your new role:
Our client is seeking a technically skilled and strategically minded IT Systems Manager to lead all aspects of internal IT operations while planning and delivering infrastructure improvements. This standalone role is ideal for someone with hands-on technical experience who's ready to take full ownership of IT systems, cybersecurity, and digital development across the business.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing day-to-day IT operations, including hardware, software, connectivity, and telephony support
Overseeing IT setups for new starters – PCs, laptops, printers, and user accounts
Maintaining and monitoring system backups, disaster recovery, and remote/offsite data protocols
Administering key business platforms such as Microsoft 365 and OrderWise (ERP)
Managing user permissions, onboarding/offboarding, and device provisioning
Leading cybersecurity initiatives – including system audits, threat assessments, and policy enforcement
Delivering staff training on IT best practice and digital security awareness
Planning and implementing IT projects such as cloud migrations, server upgrades, and network installations
Maintaining accurate documentation of IT assets, licences, and system configurations
Liaising with external IT partners and suppliers to ensure timely resolutions and accountability
What you will need to succeed:
3-5 years' experience in IT management or senior technical support, ideally within an SME environment
Strong technical knowledge across hardware, networking, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity
Experience planning and delivering infrastructure projects (CCTV, cabling, server environments, etc.)
Proven ability to manage multiple projects from scoping through to delivery
Excellent documentation, communication, and process management skills
Confident working independently and making strategic IT decisions that influence business operations
Strong problem-solving approach and a proactive attitude toward system improvement
