Project Manager

A leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a medium-rise residential development in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional to take ownership of a high-quality project from start to completion, working with an established contractor known for delivering complex design and build schemes to exceptional standards.
Role Overview
The successful Project Manager will be responsible for leading all on-site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team and maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, and subcontractors throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage on-site construction activities from groundworks through to handover

Oversee project planning, sequencing, and progress reporting
*
Manage subcontractor performance, safety compliance, and quality assurance
*
Coordinate design and commercial teams to ensure smooth project delivery
*
Conduct site meetings and progress reviews with internal and external stakeholders
*
Maintain a proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental management
*
Ensure all works are completed in line with company standards and client expectations
Experience and Qualifications
*
Proven experience as a Project Manager with a UK main contractor
*
Background in RC frame residential or mixed-use developments valued at £20m or above
*
Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to drive performance
*
Excellent technical understanding of design and build projects
*
CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certification required
*
Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management or related field preferred
