Site Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a major RC frame and groundworks project based in Bridgwater. The project forms part of a large-scale industrial and infrastructure development in the region, contributing to one of the UK’s most significant construction programmes.

Our client is a leading civil engineering and construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality concrete frame, groundwork, and infrastructure works across the South West.

Role Overview:

As a Setting Out Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in the day-to-day site delivery — providing accurate setting out, surveying, and technical support to ensure that all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting out and surveying for RC frames, foundations, drainage, and external works.

*

Working closely with the site management and engineering teams to ensure precision and quality.

*

Maintaining accurate as-built drawings and quality assurance records.

*

Assisting with site planning, temporary works coordination, and material control.

*

Providing technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors.

*

Ensuring all works are carried out safely and in line with health and safety procedures.

Requirements:

*

Valid CSCS Card (Essential)

*

Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/Degree or equivalent)

*

Proven experience in setting out RC frame and groundwork projects

*

Proficiency in using total stations, GPS, and AutoCAD

*

Strong communication and coordination skills

*

Able to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines
