A client within the Public Sector based in Derbyshire is currently recruiting for a Projects Surveyor to join their Estates and Property Review Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a property/estates environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to be the technical property support for the Council’s major projects and to be part of a comprehensive and effective Estate Management service.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Undertake and manage a range of professional property work, including acquisitions, disposals, lettings, lease management, and some property management.
• Provide property advice to project teams and other internal departments.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver large Council projects, such as flood defence schemes.
• Line management of Valuers, Estates Surveyors, and Senior Valuation Technicians as allocated.
• Act as the intelligent client for the appointment and management of external consultants for specialist property services.
• Support the Council’s Disposal Programme and ensure targets are met.
• Contribute to the formulation of Estate Management policies and strategies.
• Maintain high-quality customer service and ensure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental policies, and statutory requirements.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• RICS exempting Degree/Qualification in Estates Management or equivalent.
• Full professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in managing external advisors, complex property transactions, and working within multi-disciplinary teams.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Knowledge of commercial property ownership, acquisition, disposal, lettings, service charges, and management.
• Experience of compulsory acquisition and compensation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant asset/valuation software.
• Previous role within a Government or Public Sector Estates/Property Regeneration team.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £26 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £20 per hour PAYE).
