Project Manager (Freelance) – RC Structures, Water Infrastructure

Location: Southampton Region, Hampshire Contract: Freelance / CIS Rate: Highly Competitive Day Rate

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Project Manager to lead a crucial phase on a significant RC Structures package as a subcontractor on a Water infrastructure project in the Southampton region. This is a highly rewarding freelance opportunity to join a respected tier 2 contractor known for delivering complex civil engineering schemes nationwide.

The successful candidate will take full operational and commercial accountability for the successful delivery of reinforced concrete (RC) structures related to water treatment or pipeline infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership: Direct all on-site activities, ensuring the RC structures package is delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Commercial Management: Oversee project financial performance, including managing the project budget, identifying and managing variations, and providing accurate cost forecasting.

Safety & Quality Governance: Implement and enforce rigorous health, safety, and environmental protocols specific to complex water and RC construction environments.

Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client, subcontractors, and design team, ensuring seamless communication and problem resolution.

Resource Management: Effectively plan and manage plant, labour, and material procurement to optimize site efficiency and minimize downtime.

Candidate Profile:

Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Site Agent leading significant RC structures packages within the water, marine, or heavy civil engineering sectors.

Strong technical understanding of reinforced concrete installation, formwork, and quality control.

Essential Certifications: SMSTS and relevant First Aid qualifications.

Based locally or able to commit to a daily commute to the Southampton area.
