Job Title – Clerk of Works (M&E)
About the Role:
My client is a global leading provider in facilities management and they are looking for a Clerk of Works (M&E) to assist on all M&E project works occurring at one of their prestigious banking contracts located in Canary Wharf.
The Project Engineer, Clerk of Works (M&E) will be responsible for supervising mechanical and electrical installations on-site to ensure they meet design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. This role involves monitoring contractors’ work, verifying materials and workmanship, coordinating with consultants and project teams, and ensuring timely completion of M&E works. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems and a proven track record in site supervision.
What You’ll Do:
* Supervise M&E works on-site to ensure alignment with approved design, specifications, and industry standards.
* Inspect installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for quality assurance.
* Verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship meet contractual and safety requirements.
* Monitor testing, commissioning, and handover of M&E systems to ensure functionality.
* Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project teams to resolve technical discrepancies.
* Prepare daily/weekly reports on progress, quality, and compliance.
* Ensure timely delivery of M&E works without compromising safety or quality.
About you:
* Electrical or Mechanical qualifications from a recognised Institution (NVQ / C&Gs)
* Proven experience in Data Centre projects (Desirable but not essential) with exposure to critical infrastructure, quality compliance, and fast-track delivery
* Solid understanding in M&E
* Great communication and leadership qualities
