-You should be familiar with timber products and sheet materials

-A buying background within a timber merchants or builders merchants is also required

With a network of branches our client supplies a range of timber and building products to the construction sector.

This is a very important role for the business! Maintaining the profitability of the timber side of the business through good buying practices and building strong relationships with suppliers. You will also need to be up to speed on what is selling well and what isn't – keeping an eye on the trends basically. Therefore we require a seasoned procurement professional who can demonstrate previous buying success which must be from the construction supply sector and would ideally be from the timber world.

Their buying power is strong which is related to the huge range and quantity of products they sell.

This is a senior position reporting directly into the Head of Procurement, leading the buying strategy within the timber side of the business.

As well as the procurement background, you must have some knowledge of timber products too. Please bear this in mind to avoid disappointment.
