About the Role
Our Client, a major International manufacturer is seeking an experienced and highly capable Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major industrial development project in Toronto. This is a senior leadership position, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle — from concept and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. The successful candidate will be a commercially astute professional with proven expertise in managing large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Manage all phases of the project from inception to completion, ensuring full alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and company standards.

Commercial Management: Maintain strict control of project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reporting. Proactively identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

Planning & Scheduling: Develop detailed project programs, ensuring critical milestones are met. Coordinate all design, engineering, procurement, and construction activities.

Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities. Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure transparent communication and collaboration.

Contract Administration: Oversee contract negotiations, variations, claims, and dispute resolution processes. Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.

Quality & Safety Assurance: Uphold the highest standards of site safety, environmental management, and construction quality. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Team Leadership: Direct multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, site managers, and subcontractors. Provide mentorship, clear direction, and performance oversight to ensure project success.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
*
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in project management within the construction industry.
*
Proven track record of delivering large-scale industrial projects (manufacturing facilities, logistics centres, processing plants, etc.).

Deep understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety standards.
*
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets exceeding $50M.

Exceptional organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
*
Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore).
