Job Description

Position: CNC Operator

Overview

Responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-quality parts and components with precision and accuracy. The role supports the manufacture of a wide range of cabinetry and joinery items using materials such as solid timber, MDF, laminate, melamine boards, and solid surface materials.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Set-Up

Prepare and set up CNC machines based on job requirements.

Ensure proper calibration and alignment of machinery before production.

Programming

Write and modify CNC programs to control machining processes.

Optimise programming for efficiency and accuracy.

Execution

Load materials and components onto machines.

Conduct test runs to verify outputs meet specifications.

Monitor machines during operation and make adjustments as needed.

Inspect and measure finished products to confirm compliance with requirements.

Maintenance

Perform regular maintenance on CNC machinery to ensure reliability and longevity.

Carry out daily checks on machines and tooling.

Documentation

Maintain accurate records of machine settings, adjustments, and production outputs.

Safety Compliance

Follow all safety guidelines and workplace protocols.

Promote and maintain a safe working environment.

Competencies

Proven experience as a CNC Operator.

Skilled in CNC machinery operation, tooling, and precision measurement.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical documents.

Understanding of blueprints, CAD/CAM systems, and computer programming.

Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.

High attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
