A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced asbestos professional to join a respected and growing consultancy as Asbestos Technical Manager at their new office in Kent.

Our client has built a strong reputation in the industry for quality, professionalism and looking after its people. With steady growth across the South of England, they’re now looking for someone to lead, develop and strengthen their technical team as they continue to expand.

As Asbestos Technical Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining UKAS accreditations (ISO 17025 and ISO 17020) and ensuring all technical operations run smoothly across surveying, analytical and laboratory activities. You’ll also play a key part in developing the team – from overseeing training and authorisations to maintaining consistently high standards and helping to grow the region further.

Key responsibilities of the Asbestos Technical Manager include:

* Leading and supporting a team of analysts, surveyors, consultants and lab staff

* Managing day-to-day site operations across the South

* Ensuring all asbestos-related works meet ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 standards

* Carrying out internal audits, staff authorisations and competency reviews

* Overseeing training, inductions, toolbox talks and refreshers

* Managing internal QC and external proficiency schemes (RICE and AIMS)

* Supporting UKAS assessments and closing out findings efficiently

* Contributing to survey and analytical project planning and asbestos removal works

* Building and maintaining relationships with clients and suppliers

* Working closely with senior management to support growth and business development in the region

What are we looking for?

* A strong asbestos background with BOHS P401, P402, P403, P404, P405, W505 or CoCA

* Experience working within UKAS-accredited environments to ISO 17025 and ISO 17020 standards

* Confident leadership skills and experience developing teams

* Excellent communication and organisational skills with strong attention to detail

* A hands-on approach with a solid understanding of health and safety

* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required

* Based within a commutable distance of Maidstone (this is a full-time, office-based role)

In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary between £45,000 and £50,000 depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including paid travel time, a company vehicle, private healthcare, a pension scheme, generous annual leave that increases with service and a commitment to your continious professional development.
