Mechanical Site Fitter
Location: Royston, Hertfordshire
Rate: £23.00 per hour (9 hours paid)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm
Type: Full-time, PAYE

The Role
You’ll play a key part in ensuring all plant and equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to a skilled and proactive fitter with experience in plant maintenance and fault-finding.

Key Responsibilities:

* Service, repair, and maintain plant and machinery to a high standard.

* Minimise downtime and ensure equipment is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

* Carry out regular inspections and preventative maintenance.

* Communicate effectively with the Breakdown Supervisor, workshop, and site teams.

* Quarantine unsafe plant and report defects immediately.

* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site rules, RAMS, and UK highway regulations.

* Accurately complete maintenance logs and job sheets via tablet.

* Promote safe working practices and uphold the company’s professional standards.

Experience & Skills Required:

* NVQ qualification in Plant Maintenance (essential).

* CSCS card (essential).

* CPCS/NPORS non-operative qualification (desirable).

* Strong plant and product knowledge.

* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Driving licence.
