Our client is a creative design and production studio based in South London, specialising in museum exhibitions, experiential environments, and quick-turnaround pop-up installations. They’re a friendly, dynamic team who take pride in crafting engaging, high-quality spaces — and enjoy a sociable, hands-on culture with private exhibition viewings and dinners to celebrate their work.
They are now seeking a Junior Designer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a basic CAD background and a keen interest in joinery or spatial design who’s eager to learn and develop their technical and creative skills in a fast-paced studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design team in producing 2D and 3D drawings for exhibitions, pop-ups, and branded environments.
Assist in preparing technical drawings, plans, and elevations for production.
Work alongside senior designers to understand project requirements and buildability.
Help coordinate design documentation and support production and workshop teams.
Learn and develop skills in Rhino 3D and other design tools through in-house training.
Contribute to design reviews, material research, and creative brainstorming sessions.
Requirements
Basic proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar).
Understanding or interest in joinery, construction, or spatial design.
Eagerness to learn 3D modelling in Rhino – full training provided.
Positive attitude, good communication, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a small, creative team.
Location: Croydon (approx. 1-hour commute)
Working arrangement: Fully office-based (with potential hybrid flexibility after training)
Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 depending on experience
