Repairs Operations Manager
A client within the Public Sector based in Swindon is currently recruiting for an Operations Manager – Repairs to join their Repairs and Maintenance team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing repairs environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the council’s repairs service across housing and corporate assets.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Lead the operational delivery of the council’s day-to-day, voids, and planned repairs services.
• Manage large-scale repairs and maintenance works, ensuring compliance with all statutory and service standards.
• Oversee staffing, budgets of approximately £10m, and equipment to deliver efficient and effective services.
• Lead on the procurement and management of maintenance contracts, ensuring value for money and contractor performance.
• Provide visible leadership and be present on-site supporting operational teams and front-line operatives four out of five days per week.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
Proven experience leading operational teams and managing high-value budgets within a housing or local authority environment.
Strong technical knowledge of building construction, property maintenance, and housing standards.The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing and procuring maintenance contracts.
Ability to drive service improvements and deliver high-quality outcomes in a customer-focused setting.The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £350 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £250 per day PAYE).
